Great Falls Explorers Announce Montana Native as Assistant General Manager

Great Falls, MT – July 27, 2006 – The Great Falls Explorers of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) announced the hiring of Ryan Acra, a Chinook, MT native, as the first Assistant General Manager (AGM) in franchise history.  Acra, who has a bachelor’s degree in business development from Montana Tech, worked as an account executive for the Butte Copper Kings of then-Pioneer League affiliate of the Anaheim Angels of Major League Baseball.  During his tenure with the Copper Kings, his additional responsibilities included the hiring and management of game day staff, as well as writing articles and press releases. 

“It is our pleasure to announce Ryan Acra as our Assistant General Manager.  Ryan is a friendly and energetic individual who will serve as the local face of the organization.  He is a proven manager who can develop and sustain relationships between our ball club and the Great Falls community, and we look forward to building a successful franchise with him,” stated Joe Clark, General Manager of four CBA franchises owned by the holding company Apex Sportstainment, LLC, including the Great Falls Explorers.

In his previous capacity, Acra served as a clinical recruiter for Benefits Healthcare where he built relationships with various colleges and universities and successfully recruited many hard-to-fill positions.  He also has extensive experience as Regional Human Resources Manager for Granite Construction Company in Southern California, where he not only handled all HR issues but also performed in a business development role.
